President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Bola Tinubu have mourned renowned urologist and a doyen of private medical healthcare in Kano State, Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmed.

Ahmed, a friend to the late Head of State, Gen. Murtala Mohammed, was the founder of Asmau Memorial Hospital, renamed Abubakar Imam Urology Centre, Kano, and served as the Chairman of the Shari’a Council of Nigeria.

The President described the defunct Social Democratic Party presidential aspirant as a man blessed with immense wisdom. Ganduje, in a statement signed by his press secretary, Abbas Anwar, decried Ahmed’s death as a great loss to the black race. He noted that the late elder statesman was an embodiment of righteousness, discipline, hard work, commitment and patriotism.

Tinubu, in a condolence message by his Media Office yesternight in Lagos, said: “I received the news of Ahmed’s death with deep sense of sorrow.”
