BREAKING: Buhari extends Tanko Muhammad’s tenure as CJN

Mr Buhari sent the recommendation to the National Judicial Council and the supervisory body approved the appointment on Thursday, a spokesperson for the NJC, Soji Oye, said in a statement on Saturday.

Mr Onnoghen was convicted on Thursday by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, and was barred from holding public office for 10 years. He has denied all allegations against him, and has appealed the ruling. Also, coming just weeks before the February presidential election, it raised suspicions, with the opposition accusing Mr Buhari of moving to appoint a stooge who would ensure judicial support after the polls would have been rigged.

Nigeria is a funny country: From service chiefs to judiciary you exten the tenures of those due for retirement but retired the junior officers. Mistrial and ambassadorial appointment for old men ,' modern in Kanu & ,kastina etc' for the you.God help 9ja

Please tell this man to go and rest you grandchildren need you at home not the law room Biko

Congratulations

Shaking my head

🤣🤣🤣...let Buhari continue...I am consoled in the fact that tyrants do die. The harder they go, the harder they fall. When God arises, tyrants fall. Selah!

They didn't want to send his name to this present Senate for confirmation because Tanko's nomination will definitely be rejected. They want to wait for the new Senate to be inaugurated before forwarding his name for confirmation as the substantive CJN.

Tanko U might die be4 ur time I aint praying 4 death But u should know better What the old man sees sitting down these days the young sees standing from a different dimension.

This is not a breaking news....we all had a knowledge of that ..

The plan is falling in place.

Could he even do this? Well make i go watch Man City v Spurs

👍🏻👍🏻!!

The scripted agenda is now complete.

We move! No time to waste time.

Can this face here represent Justice in Nigeria?

Any Southerner who is not watching and learning that his Children will receive such treatment from the Northerners in future if Nigeria is not restructured, is practicing folly.

Do what you wish Mr President, there’s God oh.

Wonderful
