Prof Ilesani was abducted Thursday night from his residence at the staff quarters of the university campus in Girei, headquarters of Girei Local Government Area of the state.The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, said the Chief Security Officer of the university has reported the development to the police.The federal university is fast acquiring the infamy of being a fertile ground for kidnappers who always ‘gun’ for professors.
Only last month, a professor of Soil Science in the university, Adamu Zata, was kidnapped. It was the second time Adamu Zata would be kidnapped in one year, having earlier suffered the same fate in October 2018.
