In a statement that was released at the end of a meeting of the commission on Tuesday, published on its verified Twitter handle, INEC said, the elections were declared inconclusive for a number of reasons, one of which include the discontinuation of the use of smart card readers during the elections.

Part of the statement read, “The Commission met today, 12th March 2019 and reviewed the conduct of the 29 Governorship and 991 State constituency elections held on 9th March 2019. In all, the Commission declared winners in the Governorship elections in 22 states.“However, the Returning Officers in Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto declared the governorship elections inconclusive.

“The elections were declared inconclusive for a combination of reasons, mainly the discontinuation of the use of Smart Card Readers midway into the elections or the failure to deploy them, over-voting and widespread disruption in many polling units.” INEC went on to reveal that it would be holding supplementary elections in the states where elections were declared inconclusive on March 23.The Commission met today, 12th March 2019 and reviewed the conduct of the 29 Governorship and 991 State constituency elections held on 9th March 2019. If inecnigeria declared Elections inconclusive bc the cancelled votes is more than the diff bw the winner & the first runner up. Then Presidential elections too shd be declared inconclusive as the diff bw Buhari & Atiku is 3.8 mil votes while the cancelled votes is 5.8million.

inecnigeria Is there any among the states declared inconclusive that APC candidate is leading? Can it all be just coincidence?

This is a slap on democracy, we saw a situation during the presidential election where vote scored by each parties is more than the accredited votes and inecnigeria went ahead to declare the result any how.

This current INEC team is a huge dissapointment, the worst i hv ever seen! Previously, they use to rig systematically, but with these group, its daylight robbery. Let me see how most of these people they impose on nigerians against our wish, will enjoy our co-operation.

INEC Chairman should face his fears now or it will hunt him forever. It is only a coward that submit to blackmails or intimidations. Ask Akpabio and he will tell you how far

👎

inecnigeria this is the worse election ever to be conducted and its a slap to the democracy that we claim to be building. It also means the presidential election is also inconclusive n should cancelled too.
