BREAKING: Sudan’s Omar Al-Bashir resigns amidst protests

Omar Al-Bashir, a political hardliner and controversial leader of Sudan, has stepped down after 30 years in power, reports say Thursday.

His ouster follows days of protests that have engulfed the country, which is amongst the largest by land mass in Africa. Additional details of Mr Al-Bashir’s ouster were still sketchy as of early Thursday morning in Abuja, as other claims on social media said it came through a military coup d’etat.

That's what's a legends he is.and deserves a rolling drums and a trumpets.

This killer should be handed over to them in the Hague

Sudan will smile again.

ABDVRRAXAQ Zimbabwe. I hope they're better off now? I pray Libya, I hope they use gold as cube in their flakes for breakfast? Possible Sudan name reigned in the air in Naija lately & BOOM, Sudan Ruler took a bow laslas. Ain't God? I hope it will be for better than their past? Wehdone 💪

Unfortunately, Nigerians only protest on Twitter and Facebook where the President MBuhari neither care about it's existence even know how to use them or read. Coward Nigerians!

Let him be ready to go to jail after his time with ICC. Rogues running Africa.Shame.

Did he resign or arrest by military...?

He did not resign, he was overthrown

Toppled not resigned.

Will politicians who stole others mandate do same in Nigeria?

Can this happen in Nigeria 🇳🇬?

Our MBuhari should learn from him

Or relieved of his duty by the military?

Had to confirm it's not April 1st

MBuhari come and learn from your Muslim friend, simply resign

Ur president is the next hassan_jajimaji Museveni😂😂

Lol, resigned how? He was ousted by the military through the power of the people. Sudan PeoplePower

can any Nigerian office holder resign ?

Welcome to Nigeria: True Democratic change!

They will test the pain of their evil plan

Try dis in Nigeria,Nigerian army go shoot u without a 2nd thought.

Wish PMB can resign if we protest

This is getting interesting, leaders will now have to wake up to their real responsibilities or get swept away by the people who are the true owners of the power they wield

History will repeat itself

He never resigned. He got kicked out by women. Say it like it is. Give praise to whom it's due. iAlaaSalah and co got the job done. MashaAllah

A 5 star cell awaits thee in Hague.

Overthrown or resigned?

Good for him

Thanks to d military for forcing him out of office after 30years. He wanted to die there.

People are waking up from deap dead slumber and saying NO! To despots.

Good

Hm, how does that song go now? - 'There's a slow train coming...' Wonder where the next stop will be? LetTheChangeCome Algeria Sudan ...?

This is a welcome story and congratulate the Sudanese people for their unrelenting voices and struggles.African countries have for long suffered injudiciously under this tyrants.the rest of Africa should take heed and continue the struggle against dictatorship and anti-democracy

Wow! Good riddance to bad rubbish!!!!!

First it was Algeria, now Sudan, could we be witnessing the second African Arab uprising or will it spread to non-Arab African nations where leadership has become family throne or business empire. But needed we be careful, the memories of Libya are still fresh.

Buhari , now it’s your turn , follow the lead with immediate effects..

Good riddance 👏🏼

Great news.

These are people that see NATIONAL INTEREST above parochial interest. In Nigeria, its GREED, REGION & ETHNICITY. Oridinary true federalism bill or devotion of POWER cannot b accepted by NASS cos of regional interest based on skewed creation of states/LGA for money sharing.

This is news to celebrate as we hope for a no repeat of Zim's transition. Congratulations to Sudanese.

Sharia law must be meted upon Bashir of Sudan. The Hague will be to comfortable for him. He needs to experience the dungeons he has incarcerated his fellow citizens in.

Buying and selling is my lifestyle sell me anything you have, your buyer is definitely on my timeline. Ask for anything u want to buy too I definitely have Also a bitcoin trader n gift card exchanger.. Let's connect you to your buyer And also to your seller ... Pls help RT

obyezeks African leaders at any sphere of office are so obsessed with power even at the point of rejection by the people.

He was overthrown he didn't step down

My prayers is that makes Sudan not end up like Libya.

Citizens power in full display nd usually solid enough 2 move mountains. But here in Nigeria? Docility, afonja dis Ipob dat. Atikulating sai or babaring and internet warriors r all we r known 4. Under 2 weeks Algeria has done it nd now d Sudanese while...we r stil arguing 2023

Useless man, Buhari should also resign.

When will Lagosians follow suit and pursue away that monster at bourdillion. The hyena of bourdillion. Which kind lion. Lion ko, lion my ass.

I hope we youths of this country are seeing the power of unity of purpose

It is only in Nigeria today that someone will rig election ,still remain in power while the citizens, careless, but prefer jumping into Mediterranean sea or resorts to suicide bc of hardships.

One down , several to go!!

obyezeks Nigerian leaders seem to be the only ones oblivious to protests. Mycheeew!!!

Every useless leaders will eventually leave either by protest or constitutional court.

Good news. The people are the masters.

there was a warrant of arrest from Icc,hope it's effected

Finally! Time to visit the International Criminal Court in Hague!

Ordinary protests? Mtcheew, come to Nigeria lemme show you something

Time to cool down the country's high fever....send him to the Hague to keep him busy😀

Nigeria will follow suit

Really loving the people power getting despots out of office! As it was in Algeria with Bouteflika, now it is with Sudan's Omar Al-Bashir. As for Nigeria...

Africans are waking up , next in line is nigeria

1st Bouteflika now Omar Al Bashir, Next.......? They are too greedy to step down in Nigeria ....but have we really tried to force a change?

Can this ever happen in Nigeria?

obyezeks Buhari should watch it, impunity won't last forever

SERAPNigeria He knew better. Seems the only message African leaders understand now is IRON FISTS!

It seems the ‘glue’ is finally loosening off the nether regions of Africa’s notorious sit-tight leaders. They’re vamoosing one after the other! The ‘young man’ sitting upon Cameroon should borrow a leaf . I hope his own glue isn’t SUPER-GLUE🤐

ICC loading seriously.....

It seems the ‘glue’ is finally loosening off the nether regions of Africa’s notorious sit-tight leaders. They’re vamoosing one after the other! The ‘young man’ sitting upon Cameroon should borrow a leaf .🤐

Buhari see what your mates are doing.

How I wish we the youth can be United and demand for government transparency from our leaders. We are really behind in terms of development and welfare. Everyday we face a thousand ways to die in this country

It is good for him and the Country. We need more.

There is time for every thing.

30years as President?!!!! at last, thank God oh!

It seems the ‘glue’ is finally loosening off the nether regions of Africa’s notorious sit-tight leaders. They’re vamoosing one after the other!

The real man of integrity not a fraudulent person

When the populace stand together in one accord, victory becomes inevitable.

adeyanjudeji No Nigerian President will ever resign! If you like slaughter yourselves.

RinsolaAbiola Africa will be better somehow sometimes sooner than later he don't have any other options than to resigns the rise and fall of Muammar Mohammed Abu Minyar Gaddafi is the beginning of Africa leader wisdom

lai lai not TheMbuhari i know

Time will come when this type of story will happen in Nigeria where the people will rise against bad governance and the government will be forced out. Nigerians be ready one day we shall rise to the occasion. Our voice and protest will be hard and seen.

Bas

Happy about this; first it was Algeria's President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, now this.

When people speak with one voice, this happens.

Which day will the youths of this cursed and sick country rise up? Algeria did it earlier and now Sudan. SudanUprising

snitchNGR When, Nigeria? When?

Africa is getting there!!

GbemiDennis Nigeria oh

KadariaAhmed You are the true definition of legend.

GbemiDennis When PMB said Nigerian youths are lazy, this is what he meant?

He was due i guess. Congratulations Sudan.

Thank God o

This is where people have sense not in Nigeria that claim to be democratic and learned with millions of degree holders without common sense adeyanjudeji segalink realFFK GovAyoFayose ChidiOdinkalu FemiFalanaSAN femiaribisala atiku ShehuSani when will Nigerians begin?

The revolution that happened in Algeria & Sudan can never happen in Nigeria, because our activists are interested when they need money from the ruling government.they are not fighting for bad governance in the country, they only fight for their personal interest

From who?

Kudos, ! Real Breaking, and indeed, trending! Obscenity, holding unto power for 30yrs! Africa!

Unfortunately, this is probably the beginning of another military ruler's 30+ years.

In Egypt they handed power over to the SMC . Look how that turned out to be a dictatorship in disguise

Didn't see that coming.

Nigerian activists are not fighting for good governance, their fight are to collect their own shares of money from government

obyezeks The Sudanese have also come to terms with possessing their possession. Nigerians re too intelligent to realise themselves.

DemkoStar Can Nigerians protest?!!!.

a great news indeed.African youths are the hope of this continent.. Until Nigerian youths stand up and demand for equity, security, justice and rule of law in all our govt agencies irrespective of the tribe, religion, and ethnicity.. Nigeria will be great but......

Fearless leader a great man you will always be having survived the western hypocrisy. May you find peace in your private life & in retirement.

obyezeks Oh well, Kremlin couldn't help Omar anymore. Viva Sudan!

The kind of 'liver' we need as Nigerians!

These are the real men and women; not in Nigeria where the number of Judas Iscariot are innumerable!

When ll Buhari resign nw greedy man😂

Serious country...unlike Nigeria wey dey sidon dey look...its high time we start putting pressure on our leaders...

obyezeks Long overdue

Finally

When the people realize how much power they have...

Whoa!Is this Africa? It is really unheard of, but when the people are united their will becomes a force. One thing Nigeria’s political class will never allow to happen, because they know the force in Unity, they would rather perpetuate hate, divide and rule than unity to previl💔

obyezeks Oh great news

You all calling Nigeria into this are ignorant for Nigeria is 10times ahead of those country in terms of constitutional and participatory democracy they're fighting for.

Citizens power, we need such culture here in Nigeria

When would nigeria be like this

In a country where youths know what they should do per time, bring down dictators. The other day it was Algeria and now Sudan. The wind is blowing out all seat tight dictators in Africa, so that there can be fresh air. It is a new dawn in Africa. Congratulations Sudan.

Power belongs to the people

This can never work in Nigeria because of ethnicity, religion and tribal sentiment. It's even worse among the northern youths, they can never think beyond these lines. I weep for my unborn children.

There's time for everything.

This is the true power of the people!! I wish Nigerians would be as resilient as this!!

Paul Biya get prepared. Your days are numbered

Typical Nigerian leader will use the military to kill protesters and there after tag them criminals. We shall overcome someday

I'm proud of the Sudanese! Nigerians bark without balls

😂😂

To avoid civil war better for sudenese.

In Nigeria it wee never happen...nobody to protest, they are busy asking 'how do I look on facebook' and shouting 'holyghost fire' in churches

First Algeria and now Sudan. They all overstayed their welcome. But what about Derby of Tchad, Musevini and Biya of Cameroon? Ohhhhhh, I think the White people are Okay with these equally sit-tight leaders

Ayam not understanding. Is it that the man doesn't have zombie party supporters or people from his tribe. Don't they hire crowds over there to counter protest?Don't they have an ogundamasi or Lauretta or bashir?

Why can't buhari resign?

Who pressured him? Shii

And Jubrin will never resign

obyezeks When will MBuhari resign? Oh I get it, the North (the most affected region) will never start or join a protest to oust their Olodo god. ZamfaraIsBleeding ZamfaraKillings would've been the last straw but Religion and tribalism will never allow them talk.

So he has started ruling them at a tender age. 30 years kwa?

Whaaaat!!!🥺🤯

It can only happen in Nigeria when the youths are united from north to south, east to west. Sentiments and ethnic differences will not give room for national cohesion. God bless Nigeria

He didn't resign he was overthrown by the citizens ND military.

obyezeks I think all this sit-tight president has learn their lesson from Liberia's saga. Resignation is good for them.

Long overdue!😳

Paul Biya is next.

He was kicked out.

First Algeria, now Sudan. See country with youth that know what they want, unlike Nigeria where you see few people and other youth and so called activist must have connived with those in authority through exchange of cash to sabotage any effort. We still have a long way to go.

Franeb If only we can.....nvm

Every dictator has an imminent end

If this was to be Nigeria, they would have referred to the protesters as being sponsored. When the Arab guys mean business they mean business don't joke with them. Congratulations to all Sudanese

Buhari next

Paul Biya of Cameroon, next.

Remain; Idris Derby of Chad, Nguema Mbasgo of Equitorial Guinea, Faure Eyadema of Togo......

MBuhari is next

Finally & great news for Sudan.

Better for you!

Good riddance

🙌🏽

Western nation have succeeded

Wait!!! What

This is a country

A great day and a new dawn for Africa. Greatness ahaed.

All despotic rulers have their day.

The people that did that thing to Buhari have already started paying.

For better for best.

Oh Nigeria my country. When are we going to receive sense and do the needful? It cuts across all forms of government.Remove underperforming persons in service. Why is this so difficult?

There's always time for everything.. Omar Al-Bashir go and rest.

Resigned or removed by the military?

Good , people’s power . Ethnicity will not allow Nigerians to see light

All this useless springs who as it helped Algeria, Syria, Libya, Yemen all this Arab citizens are just dumb. They don't know they're pushing them all to there ruins. Wonder why there own eshin eyin ko wo eshin waju sa re. I don't pity their plight at all. Real senseless dudes.

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessss

when will such happen in naija
