Umahi will have to leave office because there is already a precedential case in Akure, house of reps

Bravo

Cool

Cool

Civil Servant that serves for 35 years and retired are not getting their pensions, or delayed before they died, but politicians that riggs there ways to the house of rep or Senate's are requesting for lifetime pensions, hmmmm, Nigeria wake up.

Let it be like dat they are credible people dat are ready to serve

I thought National Assembly belongs only to Lawal and buhari, members don't have a say. KUDOES to them!

Why reject to amend it? Because u amend it, it will affect at Senate? Senators plz do what is right.

Those this mean; they r no longer Rubber stamp 🙄

Wow! For the first time they rejected something at least .

That's great.... We are on our way to victory... But suffice me to say that it goes beyond all these... Trust we are all getting our PVCs ready INEC_no_go_count_tweets_as_votes

On what basses, why are the rejecting?

Prayers 🙏🙏🙏 of many Nigerians and some Clergymen made Buhari to sign his Party defeat. Now he wants to amend it like a child using ✏️ pencil. You signed with a biro - No way !

I think the only adjustment that ACT needs is, adding TWITTER as a medium for voting......... I come in ☮️🕊️

Nigeria where are we heading to

Wow these senators are in the form of their lives. Winning streak!

Baba wants to scatter water for the politicians.

What's in Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act.. How can the public have access to it? Stop publishing mysteries Thank you. NGRSenate instablog9ja TrafficChiefNG Naija_PR

2023 shine your eyes we will not treck to to Abuja for suffering again, please keep the good ones and throw the evil out,2015 will not repeat itself again.

They are using their teeth to count their tongue

That was an own goal by APC

Time to play politics 😛. Nigeria vote wisely this time oooooooo

Rubber stamp assembly

Amazing news simple english they were tryna misinterprete with some BS rights infringement

All part of the game plan. We will not fooled.

In

Sai chanji! Sai baba

😳😏

Upper cut to malami. We can't amend our law just to favour one man. Let him getat. Go and resign if u want to contest. Let everyone get a level playing ground

Anyone against clause 84 (12) is a sadist and selfish. What is so special that you can't relinquish power to pursue your ambition. The bill have been signed and that's it.

Kudos to the Senate on this one

If you want to hide anything from a typical African man put it inside a book. Them no Dey read, even google terms dem no Dey read before dey accept.

How many times should we tell malami that wisdom has left him if he has one (in Asari's voice) he wanna play Chess with career politicians that earnestly wants to redeem there selves from the slogan of Rubber stamps

My country Nigeria, I may end up buying it for modification..🙄

Doing things that suit them

This is a welcome development, they are not the only people in the country

Good development Asiwaju 2023

For the first time in this regime, the senate has acted appropriately

Is the Senate developing balls now?

This is a welcome development, enough of all these self centered activities from our leaders. Focus on what u are called for or resign for ur dream as u so wish.

There is nothing bad in the clause

pls mr president resolve asuu strike

At least for once, this Senate is proving they are not 'rubber stamp' to the Executives. This is coup d'e tat for PMB.

Kudo to the 9th NASS for the reject of that amendment of your work, and also pls help us look into the bill of woman to participate in political position that you rejected last week sir

Stop that nonsense, never says buhari request but it's an apc request or lie muhammed request or even tinubu request.

This shows that we have a non learned man as president. Act that u signed about two weeks ago, you are writing to senate to amend? Oh, it's obvious they don't read before they sign cos same thing happened for 2022 budget

There is hope afterall

It was too late to amend any section on the electoral act now because it's already less that 360 day to election. The constitution does not allow it. That's the reason they have rejected it. No conflict as people would have wished.

They've to maintain what is right

We need to understand the details of the section the President is requesting amendment on. It is just to give the government appointees more time to serve before designing to contest for electoral positions. I was with the Leader of the House of Reps last week and he said it's

This is the best decision of the Senate under Lawan , we expect to see more of this

Nice one

🤯🤯🤯

Well done NASS! Nigerians are fully with you guys on this one.

Good one.

Finally they have grown some balloons!

Political appointees should remain what their status is, appointees. They need to focus on what they're appointed to do. If they want to vote in primary and be voted for, it's best they resign their appointment. This will restraint executives from having unlimited appointees.

Well a simple court judgement will make the clause not viable at long run. It's in conflict with the constitution..which supercede any law in the land

God bless red chamber. At least they acted wisely this time.

Buhari 1 Senate 1 Nigerians 3

Where are d ppl who said anything d president brings they confirm now politicians can change if their interest is stake

PMB wants his selfish interest over national interest and Political transparency. That is 'Mr Integrity' for you. If PMB amends that section for his personal benefits, when he leaves office will he still be proud of it when others still continue with it to manipulate election?

Which states that;

Good news, I can't believe Lawan will ever so know to Buharrigged request, may God bless the federal republic of Nigeria

Good ,every political appointees must resign before voting as a delegate or being voted for,no idea why Buhari wanted this amended, those close to him didn’t like this because they won’t be able to vote during congress but it’s for the best

Excellent, it's like this senate the juju that was done for them all this while has expired. What PMB wanted to do is create opening for his boys to eat their cakes & have it. It does not go deeper than this. The people who developed the bill earlier knew what they were doing!

A welcome development

iamDoli_Suave Abeg what's in the section 84(12).

. God save you guys that you did not amend this thing I will have requested that all your brains be amended

🤔

Good news! APC and Malami not even Buhari (because I know Buhari doesn’t even know what’s happening) have a hidden agenda and they are trying to project their agenda to the nation which I am happy will not work. Nigerians are okay with the current electoral laws.

Please the Senate should include what happens to politician who deflect from a party to another while occupying an office...

I surprise oh. You go through something you say make them amend am again. No be juju be that?

Good riddance. StopBuhari

Lmao

Why he wan amend am again? Didn't he go through it before signing it?
