Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed the state’s 2022 appropriation bill of N1.756 trillion into law.

“Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu today signed the Year 2022 Appropriation Bill into law, the Budget is Christened: “Budget of Consolidation”. TOTAL BUDGET: ₦1.75 trillion,” Omotoso posted. The budget was passed at a sitting presided over by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, after a presentation of the report by Gbolahan Yishawu, chairman of the Committee on Economic Planning and Budget.

While the recurrent expenditure is N591,280,803,486bn, the Capital expenditure is N1.166,915,843,358trn, which brings the budget total size to N1,758,196,44,844trn.Sanwo-Olu said the increase was because the House of Assembly and Executive agreed to capture all financing options for the Blue and Red Line rail project, as well as other capital projects, without putting pressure on the cash flow and debt sustainability.
