The National Broadcasting Commission has summoned Channels Television presenters, Chamberlain Usoh and Kayode Okikiolu,Usoh, Okikiolu and two other anchors of the TV’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ breakfast programme were invited to the Abuja office of the regulator on Thursday over some comments made against the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari by two guests on the programme this week.
Competent sources confirmed to our correspondents that the presenters who left Lagos this morning to honour the invitation are already in Abuja.“The presenters already in Abuja,” the sources familiar with the issue told our correspondents. The NBC, it was gathered, is not comfortable with an interview granted the private television station by the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, who said he was disappointed with the way the Presidency is handling the nation’s security challenges.
It was also gathered that the commission is not comfortable with an interview granted by a former Navy Commodore, Kunle Olawunmi, who alleged that current members of the Buhari cabinet are Boko Haram sponsors.had earlier reported that the NBC queried Channels Television over the “inciting, divisive and unfair comments” made by Ortom on the programme on Tuesday.
With all the problems in Nigeria, protecting the image of a president who is clueless is what is most important Misplaced priority
This is ludicrous, is Nigeria not gradually becoming a big gulag now?
The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.
this government has a sinister mission, but they want it done covertly; any attempt to bring it to light throws them into agitation…
So no freedom of press in the Nigerian democracy? Smh
BOtunuga Those were love speeches
Imagine, Executive Govenor of Benue state shouldn't have been granted interview. What an audacity by federal govt. Buhari's govt is to ensure that whosoever speak against the truth shouldn't have the right to speak to media. Like is he md ni.
trevorbrigs They way this govt is shameless eh God hav mercy
Stup!d people. Summon them for doing their job again. I'm happy this happening to Channels TV but for the sake journalists involved. God will intervene.
This is not news. I already knew this will happen the moment the commodore started spilling the beans. Sorry you can't take back all that has been spilled. Waiting to hear from Shehu and Adesina on the obvious that was let out.
Nnamdi Kanu will be laughing 😆 where he is now.... and be shouting zoological Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬

It can be said factually that the NBC is in support of the killings and destruction in Nigeria.
Yeah anything anti buhari must not be aired , u can only air painted , fake news about him meanwhile , Nigerians are suffering and dying .
This government gets worse by the day. We're definitely not in a democracy.

That NBC of a thing is a useless agency and people disoriented body...fuck them all. So citizens don't have right to air their views on national issues One day, what happen to NDA may happen to them unless we collectively criticise the failing government
Naija we hail thee!
Dictators
i thought journalism was about revealing the truth
Mad people sitting in high places
Buhari is the worst hypocrite ever. This man called for removal for Buhari for the same reason he was arresting people and gagging the press. This man is an epidemic and we should be more concerned eradicating him than COVID 19.
But NBC is yet to summon media outlets for interviewing Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.
Lesson for those who keeps quiet about unlawful killings, kidnapping by Nigeria state actors. Journalists kept reporting proscribed IPOB, herders farmers clash, when they knew govt re lying. Their terrorism will affect everyone if u continue keeping quiet.
4 what ? Bushiit...shmmm
is nbc protecting Buhari or for the benefit of all Nigerians. if nbc can lock the internet they would. but i formation age is global.
What nonsense is going on in this country. Where is the freedom of expression and human right that the president sworn to protect. All Nigeriabs cannot be intimidate
Is nbcgovng their employer?

Are you trying to tell us that we can’t talk about a man who has failed all around in governance ? Didn’t Channels television helped him to deface Jonathan back then. It’s good we’re all getting served. Jonathan was indeed an angel.
Nothing must happen to Commondore Olakunle (rtd). He spoke his truth
EiENigeria This same man rode into power clamoring to end insecurity but he ended up fueling it even more.
How many TV stations was queried after interviewing Gumi?
Stupid NBC doesn't want anti Buhari but only pro Buhari.. Tyranny!
Govt now decides who a journalist should interview? How could you hold a journalist responsible for ‘people’s opinion?
