It was gathered that the accident occurred around 8:30pm at Agric, Ikorodu.As at 9pm, many persons were trapped underneath the container.
Director General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency Dr. Femi Oke-Osayintolu confirmed the accident but said he was yet to ascertain the number of casualties. “We have deployed our men there. I do not know the number of casualties. We are there to move the container and safe lives,” he said.
There should be huge fines metted out to trucks with unlatched loads. This becoming unbearable........where do we begin? Robbers, kidnappers, one chance, ritualistic, xenophobic attacks, Boko Haram......and then things we should be able to handle , it's a pity, are we cursed?
So unfortunate that human life isn't valued in this country. You can't see standards applied anywhere, even up to safety standards that are very key with potential grave consequences when they occur. We can't value ourselves, how do we expect people to treat us better?
