Tanko had earlier during his parade at the Kano State Police Headquarters confessed to journalists that he kidnapped and killed the victim with N100 rat poison before burying her remains in a shallow grave in one of his schools.However, during his arraignment before a High Court in Kano on Monday, Tanko, alongside his co-defendant denied committing the offences.

Probably a guilty plea (too lazy to read the article) & for those calling for 'quick judgement' even though it it's quite evident that he's guilty, it's cos they'll always be that 1 time where an innocent person is falsely accused, that's where following due process comes helps.
Is not his fault, is judiciary's fault. How can such a person be delayed in given judgement after he has confessed that he killed her and cut her up. And now they are telling us he denied. He is using the chance of being alive to denied. 'Justice delayed, justice denied'

Now that's a twist, I know his lawyers are gonna tell him to do this, and claimed he said he killed her under duress, now that's why police needs reforms and state policing should be advocated. Was he beaten by the Nigerian police, ofcouse they did, and that's confession on dures
I will fault Kano State gov't on this, because they were fully aware that CMC has no jurisdiction to hear this case, but they went ahead and arraigned them before the lower court. JusticeForHanifa

The work of a lawyer, but that was a futile decision, even as the case is a fresh case. I am sensing foul play. Kano State Govt ought not have institute the case in a lower court, knowing fully that the lower had no jurisdiction. Now, full trial will commence..
