Gov. Goni according to some impeccable sources died Wednesday night at a private hospital in Maiduguri after a brief illness.There is no official statement yet from Borno State Government but the social media is awash with the news of the demise of the former Governor.Nigeria records 196 new COVID-19 cases as total number of infections now 1,728
He attended Maiduguri Middle School , Borno Provincial Secondary School , Provincial Secondary School, Kano and the Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria , where he gained a BA , specialising in international affairs. In 1977, he transferred to the Nigerian National Supply Company.
In April 1979, Mohammed Goni resigned from the National Supply Company and entered politics. He was elected as the first civilian governor of the former Borno State, on the platform of the Great Nigeria Peoples Party , and was in office from October 1979 to September 1983.
