Department of State Services operatives have intercepted a significant arms trafficking operation, preventing the transfer of approximately 1000 rounds of ammunition from Kaduna to Niger state.

The two female arms traffickers nabbed by the operatives, Rashida Umar and Rukaiya Ladan, are both from Akwanga, Nasarawa state. The operation, which could potentially escalate security concerns in the region, began in Fadan-karshe, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where the ammunition was initially located.

Authorities say they suspect that the ammunition was intended for use by bandits operating in the Kontagora area of Niger state, raising alarm bells about the growing reach of illegal arms trade.The DSS has launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident to uncover the entire network behind the arms trafficking operation.The identity of intended recipients.
