Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and a former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, held a closed-door meeting in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.

The duo held a closed-door meeting for hours which was not unconnected with the forthcoming convention of the Peoples Democratic Party primaries ahead of the 2023 presidential election. While emerging from the closed-door meeting, Lamido disclosed that Obasanjo has reinforced his faith in the country despite the appalling situation.

The former governor was quoted to have said that Obasanjo is still committed to ensuring that Nigeria is out of the doldrums. “How do we remain safe is the biggest problem and challenge now in this country, because now, nobody is safe again. Imagine, kidnapping three workers of Baba, a former President of the country? Who is safe again?.
