Borno State Government has reduced out-of-school children by over 60 per cent – fromover two million to 800,000.

Governor Babagana Zulum disclosed this, yesterday, in Maiduguri at the inauguration of 27 local council education secretaries and the distribution of 57 school monitoring vehicles.

According to the governor, the vehicles are to enhance mobility and effective monitoring, warning that they must be used strictly for official purposes by authorised drivers. Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has said the Federal Government can foreign exchange crisis by advancing fiscal policies to encourage manufacturers to boost local production and access necessary credit to boost exports of Nigerian products.

The House of Representatives, yesterday, appealed to the Federal Government to ban and criminalise the importation of Adire, Kampala and other similar locally produced fabric into the country.
