The Borno State Government has declared that it will close all Internally Displaced Persons camps located within Maiduguri, the state capital, by December 31, 2021.
Zulum explained the state government decided to close the camps as part of efforts to enable displaced persons return to their various ancestral homes. He added that the state government in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management concluded arrangements for the safe return of the persons displaced in neighbouring countries like Niger and Cameroun Republics.
