Kalu has been cleared by Bordeaux to feature against St. Étienne on Saturday after he was prevented from playing in their last game against Lens on Sunday as he was under quarantine.

The winger was prevented from playing in the 3-2 loss to the Blood and Gold following his engagement with the Super Eagles for the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying games against Liberia and Cape Verde. “Deprived of their African internationals Samuel Kalu and Gideon Mensah in the last match loss to Lens on Sunday, the Girondins, last in Ligue 1, will already be able to recover the Nigerian striker for the trip to Saint-Etienne, Saturday.

“After travelling to countries classified as “orange” according to health authorities, he observed his period of regulatory quarantine and resumed training on Thursday,” L’Équipe reports.
