The Bokkos Cultural Development Council Vanguard, yesterday, demanded justice for what it called the heinous and senseless murder of Mr Joseph Matindiong Jelmang in the Marish community, Bokkos Local Council of Plateau State .

It was learnt that the incident happened on April 22, when a trigger-happy soldier, identified simply as Gideon, allegedly fired random shots while celebrating his birthday at a relaxation centre.The group’s chairman, Farmasum Fuddang, in a statement, condemned the perpetrators’ desperate attempt to conceal the crime by falsely labeling the innocent passer-by and residents, who tried to save his life by transporting him to the hospital, as militants.

“We also demand the immediate release of all those arrested by soldiers in Marish both on April 22 and the previous days.“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased, and we stand in solidarity with the community in seeking justice for this tragic loss,” the group said.Before flagging, please keep in mind that Disqus does not moderate communities.
