US President Joe Biden said Friday he is likely to speak to the leaders of Russia or Ukraine in an attempt to defuse growing tension over a Russian military build-up and an alleged coup plot.

US President Joe Biden talk to the media as he leaves a restaurant on November 26, 2021 on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, where he spends the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.

“I am concerned,” he said when asked about Zelensky’s claim Friday that a coup plot against him involving Russian citizens has been uncovered. “We support Ukraine’s territorial integrity. We support Ukraine’s ability to govern itself.” Biden’s national security advisor, Jake Sullivan, talked with the head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Andriy Yermak, spokeswoman Emily Horne said.
