The Special Adviser to the State Governor, Col. Paul Hemba , who addressed journalists in his office in Makurdi, said the aim of the criminal elements was to trigger inter-communal crisis between the Tiv and Jukun.
Hemba said those kidnapped were all Jukuns and added that the kidnap victims were kept at Ajon, Igbudu and Tor Donga axis all in Katsina-Alla Local Government Area of the state. “The aim of the kidnappers was to trigger inter-communal crisis between the Tiv and Jukun tribes in that axis so that they can have respite from the pressure on them from the security forces.”
