The Bayelsa State Government has announced the imposition of a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Bassambiri and Ogbolomabiri areas of the Nembe Local Government Area of the state to prevent the escalation of violent clashes.

Duba said the decision followed the government’s review of reports of violent clashes in the Nembe Local Government Area, which had resulted in a breach of the peace by unidentified persons. The statement read in part, “The Bayelsa State Government has reviewed the reports of violent crisis in Nembe, leading to a breach of the public peace and the law by yet-to-be identified individuals.”
