Abideen went missing on August 19, 2023, only for his corpse to be found in a soakaway eight days later with his vital organs missing. At the time of the incident, the boy was with his mother, Saudatu, 24, who was writing a test at the Green Herald College of Education, located around Games Village in the Bauchi Metropolis, when the incident occurred.Saidu, the father of the boy, in an interview with DAILY POST, said he is yet to recover from the incident.

“In the process of searching for him in the school, she saw one of his shoes in the school compound. We thought someone probably carried him because Abideen can’t trek that far. Then we sent messages to everyone in case anyone knew about his whereabouts. We sent messages to all mosques too, but for eight days, we didn’t know anything about his whereabouts.
