Barely Two Years After Commissioning, Multi-billion Naira Roads Collapse In Lagos | Sahara Reporters followlasg

Two roads in Tokunbo and Ishola streets, off McEween Road, Yaba, Lagos, are beginning to collapse barely two years after their commissioning, SaharaReporters has gathered.

A drive around the two streets during the week showed that some portions of the roads were already unmotorable. “Less than two years after commissioning, potholes are everywhere on the roads. It is just terrible to see the roads that were commissioned recently have totally collapsed.

followlasg Only in Nigarria will you see this. Very unfortunate.

followlasg Substandard road being done by our substandard politicians. When you have a substandard president what do you expect.

followlasg This is not even specific and don't look like due diligence was done on this report. Lagos is big and so many roads are in this condition. Pls post something better.

followlasg This is African and you are welcome.. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more interesting news ❤️❤️❤️

followlasg Naija I hailed oooo

followlasg The roads were built with sand instead of cement period

followlasg Thus one na multi-billion pot holes. What a shame to the centre of excellence and Nigeria as a country.

followlasg Ndi Ala ndi ala😞

followlasg We keep decieving ourself then run to another mans country where dey are more sincere. my hope for Nigeria to be one of the best is fading off.

followlasg Still business as usual

followlasg Aside from bad contractors, how do we citizens manage our drainage systems? Let us not blame the government for everything

followlasg Well, I am surprised cos such is expected of roads done by local contractors. College road, Ogba was done in 2012/2013 ans I can proudly say we are still enjoying it till date with a single pothole. Acme Road was done a year after, the road is still in good shape as well.

followlasg Friendly pot holes Supreme ice cream (court) government of Imo builds and patch the same time..ana aru ona emebi there there..zooo

followlasg Wish I will send you road that the governor of Imo State has commissioned. Under 2 months the road is bad. Worse of all he commissioned uncompleted road . Control to World Bank road. Please send your reporters to imo State.

followlasg Lagos is full of substandard road now even the road in cos street oyingbo linking bonu way old yaba road that was commission by the chairman of mainland local government is bad with pot hole every where.

followlasg Lagos state ministry of works get madness for head

followlasg From mile 12 to Ketu which is been constructed by Lagos state followlasg jidesanwoolu you guys will not show this one. Southern east propaganda show us the state. you guys are full of shit

followlasg Dat is Nigeria 😃

followlasg Lagos roads are the worst roads on this world!

followlasg Most of d roads are not even up to 8 months

followlasg Pouring bitumen and asphalt on sand was never the option but then no dey hear word. Coconut heads 🙁

followlasg Etiri nkankan 🎤in kwam1_official

followlasg E gudu naaw

followlasg I’m not happy with this post if you want to do your job do am well you they fear to call the person way commission the road tag 🏷 call his/her name make we drag am

followlasg This is nothing compared to Orchid Hotel road in lekki

followlasg When our dear tundefashola gave a ten years BUILD and MAINTAIN to Julius Berger all was let lose . The project was Western Avenue/ Funsho Williams Avenue . Thank God we are still here to report.

followlasg It is sad that Nigeria has become a venture where people heartlessly gain massive profit without adding value. Nigeria needs holistic reforms, if government functionaries are held accountable for their actions and inactions, Nigeria will not be in this pitiable condition.

followlasg We are CF+ organic , we deals on wholesales of all kind of organic oil ranging from ,carrier oils, essential oils, hot oils, crude kenacol , collagen, and germal plus etc We also deal on organic materials ranging from Herbs Seeds Powders Concentrators Fragrance Preservatives

followlasg .....another unpatriotic attitudes is the leaders or politicians waiting for the road to graduate from pothole to deep gorge before awarding it to contractors to benefit for 10%. Nigeria is ruled by majority of those who did'nt want her progress.

followlasg Despite d shoddy jobs, maintenance is key in everything. What are the jobs of those miscreants in local govts who does nothing but draw salary at the monthend? Organize them into gangs, equip them to go out on daily basis to mend roads in their area. Lagos is a swampy area.

followlasg Multi billion for this road😲 sahara reporters, make una fear God una reportage

GoddyJames followlasg Clown country

followlasg Where is the multi-billion naira road ?

followlasg Contractors like this should be arrested and held accountable, but the government officials hqve probably forced money from the contractors with very little left for any meaningful project execution! They woukd shooy themselves in the leg if they did...

followlasg Do a background check of the contractors. I can bet that they are either 'party men' or they came through 'party men'. OtogeLagos

followlasg Lagos is a glorified filthy slum

followlasg According to lagos state governor, water and bitumen don't mix 🤣🤣.

followlasg This is the kind of Govt we voted for, enriching and considering their pocket and stomach before the interest of the mases at heart. Another Billions will be allocated again on same road commissioned barely 2years. ContinueTheLooting

followlasg APC! I thought they said they were different from the corrupt PDP. Looks like they have pretty much the same traits.

followlasg You won't show us Airport/Oshodi/Gbagada express that has just been completed it’s one bad road that you will go and look for, Sowore and his junk rag

followlasg .... roads in the uk face blitz of cold and hot year on to year on .... the survive the elements each time .... 5 min of rain ... and naijas start investing in canoes ....

followlasg No be new thing na why d post ? We are use to it 😂 🤣 😂

followlasg jidesanwoolu where is the change your promised! Poverty increased, roads worsened, businesses closing, oba you installed is using thugs to oopress, policemen under your jurisdiction are extorting, lagosians are not happy with you!

followlasg

followlasg we don't ve government in 9j not even in Lagos so guyzzz let be watching them one day it will happen

followlasg Nigeria we hail thee

followlasg You all need to come to Imo. All the road Rochas built has this same features.

followlasg This is naija 😂😂😂

followlasg A country where the leaders are thieves, security outfits are thieves has no hope. God will punish evildoers.

followlasg If Lagosians are bold enough to take pictures of derelict infrastructure around them ehn? Tinubu will be sacked for ever. Thief

followlasg The high rate of low standard roads is very appealing, up to the point where contractors have to sell off their conscience in using poor quality materials.

followlasg OtopeLagos 😂

followlasg AkinwunmiAmbode abeg come I wan ask u small question

followlasg Most of the roads constructed by that guy was a fraud. Check Iyana ipaja, check Aboru, check baruwa inside almost everywhere.

followlasg Nigeria our nation

followlasg My country, my country...Hahahaha!

followlasg Do concrete road, Dem no go do. They will say no, they will tar the roads on soft soil with billions so they can keep recycling road contracts. A road that will last is a threat to their pockets. Bunch of thieves.

followlasg Kindly follow me,I will follow back

followlasg No na PDP ,do am

followlasg Firstly, arrest the contractor and those in the agency that supervised the project. Wickedness.

followlasg Multi billion 😂😂😂😂

followlasg Should we be surprised. This is how our leaders do things, We all hope for a better tomorrow but maybe that has to start now.

followlasg jidesanwoolu

followlasg This one good na.. Nawa o

followlasg Indeed APC political party z working...... Hahaha!!! Fools paradise

followlasg Same in abuja the area 3 junction road that was repaired just begining of this month already has potholes again. I dont know if the problem is with the government or contractors maybe both.

followlasg So sad and so embarrassing. The use of substandard materials for the construction of social infrastructures and lack of quality control by the govt authorities is overbearing on Nigerians.Let there be measures to check mate all these inadequacies.

followlasg Have you noticed something about Lagos? They leave a road in a disastrous condition for years. When they finally fix it poorly, they will also leave a number of potholes untouched. I call them 'mischief patches'. It's from there that the next stage of deterioration continues!

followlasg Two years is even better, come to Owerri Aba road to be precise then u would know that of Lagos State took time a little. This Aba road was rehabilitated just two weeks ago and as we speak there are potholes on it right now, corruption won't let these thieves give us the best.

followlasg We are use to seeing things like this, First problem in 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 palaba.tackle corruption in Lagos too

followlasg This is the time for us to wake up and practice the true democracy and we should moving to the next party

followlasg That's the problems when money is been shared between givers and receivers of the contract. God have mercy

followlasg I think Lagos state needs more of concrete roads than the conventional asphalt. Kos the terrain is mostly coarse sand and Clay, it will surely collapse after the agents of denudation- water, sun and also the massive loads the roads are put into. This is why I'm 1/

followlasg As long as there are no appropriate drainage systems at both sides of the roads, they are bound to spoil. Stagnant water destroys asphalt

followlasg As long as there is no drainage or drainages are clogged, the road would get bad. Water would sip through and erode the road. “They” know this.

followlasg Nooo this is wrong. The contractor must be sue in a standard country

followlasg 16yrs of PDP. Blame GEJ

followlasg The Headquaters of collapsing roads is in Imo State. All the roads done by Rochas left with him 😂

followlasg it has nothing to do with qualification of the contractors. They sign contracts and demand 50℅ of it. The contractors having given them 50℅ would now built road worth 20℅ of the contract and the governors wouldn't have the gut to demand for quality road.

followlasg In katsina there's still good roads built by Yar adua since when he was a governor and The roads are still good and nice, May his gentle soul continue to rest In peace

followlasg Same story nationwide. Go to owerri, the best roads are still the ones built by late Gov Mbakwe, more than 40 years ago.

followlasg Rubbish People

followlasg Where be this for lag edakun?

followlasg Na so so roads we go dey reconstruct till this world go end...it is not a curse, it's just a fact.

followlasg When I keep saying Lagos isn't working, APC apologist and stooges will bombard my timeline to attack me. Come to Old Otta road at Ile-Epo bus stop, same thing happened. Funny Govt.

followlasg Come to imo state... come and see the ones Rochas did!

followlasg You should see the one at berger, by just rite supermarket 😂 the road has collapsed

followlasg This one is even small. U haven't seen River Niger inside road before abi.

followlasg Most roads spoil after 6 months of construction. Greedy leaders will not award contracts without asking for percentage leaving the contractor with no choice than patch the road after all, they need to make profit as well.

followlasg Two years everything don burst

followlasg Those are what they rub on us in the name of infrastructure. What will it actually take them to do the right thing? Its cos their is no accountability and respect to rule of laws that they can do those and get away with it.

followlasg I keep saying this, the secret to a successful road project is the drainage system around it. Poor drainage system leads equals poor roads.

followlasg It even took you two years to collapse; here in kano we have road that started having potholes just ten days after commissioning

followlasg That is Tinubu's lagos o,check the contractor it must be Tinubu's company OtogeLagos

followlasg The richest state in Nigeria yet suffer so much because of Tinubu corruption of the food must be brought to his table first before Lagos citizens.

followlasg It is very unfortunate that we still celebrate mediocrity at this stage in this country. But what one thing is certain .. Any house built with spit will be destroyed by mere dew. Posterity will judge us all when the time is ripe!

followlasg bad roads everywhere yet we are approving construction of rail to Niger republic. One chance

followlasg Many Nigerians still don't know what is happening in this country. It's disgusting to see a couple of folks mistaking the cause for effect. They're rather looking at 'bad drainage' which is the result of kickbacks and misappropriation that defines Nigeria's biz deals.

followlasg Our contractors Na real wa .

followlasg Hmmm only 2years imo state Mcc uratta was barely 1month after construction

followlasg Nigeria is a disgrace. In fact black community is a disgrace

followlasg Two years expiration period seems to be better; about 1.2km constructed for 2 years expired before 6months. How do you address that?

followlasg This is not possible

followlasg Our useless leaders are wicked and heartless. Is this the quality of roads u see in Dubai or is it not humans beings that ensured the building of such high quality roads.

followlasg Lekki-Epe expressway is in a state of calamity

followlasg The houses wey dem use money wey come from this road contract build , stand gidigba.

followlasg I believe it's one of the Tinubu's cronies that handled that contract.

followlasg Cowbell Road In Isolo, Collapsed Before Commissioning Under AkinwunmiAmbode Govt Of Eko State

followlasg Na ambode dey do mega project wey no go last coz na Padi Padi government he dey run then compare to fashola

followlasg Honestly road construction in Lagos, by Lagos State Govt is mostly a sham. They barely last a single rainy season.

followlasg Lagos lagos lagos😂😂😂😂😂

followlasg So sad

followlasg 🤣

followlasg Na wa ooo. This country sha

followlasg The contract must have been awarded to Tinubu instead of Julius Berger. Lagos needs rescue urgently.

followlasg 😄😄the thing even last 2years the governor try their normal one is usually 6months and BOOM the road and all comes crashing 😁😁it's their work

followlasg Never knew there are China roads in Lagos.

followlasg The contractors should be arrested and money returned to the state government.

followlasg This country’s flex

followlasg The contractor should be apprehended.

followlasg Very surprising, those roads life span is 18 Months at most

followlasg This is so not nice!

followlasg Lol everyone know Nigeria local government are not working, no one cares for good roads and street lights or robot traffic, local government just lies and steal 🤣🤣🤣🤣

followlasg TrackaNG

followlasg Na so now

followlasg This road is a fly over compared to the pit and wells on badagry road 😡😡😡😡

followlasg Even the Abuja -Lokoja roads collapsed. The government will collect their 20% kickback and will turn blind eyes to the poor job executed by the contractors. Shame!

followlasg So you don't know that if u are given a project in Nigeria you have to do it substandard to give room for renovation👈😀 u are too smart for this naa🤷🙂

followlasg This current administration is full of lies. Political propaganda.

followlasg This is even better, 2 years sounds better. Come to Owerri in imo state where a road is constructed and in three weeks they are 'patching up'. MCC road to be specific.

I don't pity Lagosians! They are comfortable...

followlasg This one even survived for two years In Owerri, the rain washes them away after the photographer Governor leaves the commissioning ground.

followlasg Whose fault?

followlasg In as much as it sounds great to separate from Nigeria, can we be so sure of our regional leaders doing better than this? These rogues are unredeemable...the irony is how we adore them like small gods when we see them...

followlasg The commissioner will suffer for 600yrs

followlasg Some persons need to be jailed!

followlasg 2yrs ago, there was a road construction of the calabar -ikom highway, I was very pleased cos d route from biase towards Ogoja was an eyesore, journey of 4hrs is met wit 6hrs or more. Bt my joy was cut short seeing potholes n rain water settled on the road after construction.

followlasg The one on my area collapse before Commissioning. They have to patch the collapse portion. The so-called road is now Off ROAD. Most of the roads constructed in Lagos are substandard.

followlasg DhapoBold what we were talking about

followlasg Any road without a free flowing drainage system is bound to collapse. This one doesn't even have drainage on either side. Its child's play.

followlasg Lagos abiokuta road is a dead trap road

followlasg Zoological zoo

followlasg No be today

followlasg Finally the video has been released

followlasg lol..
