Banks refund N76.7bn, $20.9m to customers —CBN

Mr Kofo-Abdulsalam Alada, the Director, Consumer Protection Department of CBN, said this at a workshop for business editors and members of the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria on Thursday in Yola.

According to him, the refund is in line with the mandate of the department of the bank to promote consumer confidence in the financial system.Highlighting some achievements of the department, the director said they had resolved no fewer than 16,263 complaints against banks from 2012 to November 30. “We resolved over 13,000 complaints, obtained refunds of N76.75 billion, 20.90 million dollars, among others to bank customers as of November 30.

Where are the refunds and to whom are the refunds given to.. We will always see this types of things or hear it on the NEWS but we will never see or hear the outcome again..Histories await us all...

Have had issue of N65 ATM interbank charges removed from my account without me withdrawing twice from another bank. When I email my bank MyFCMB I was to the issue as been resolved and On requesting for my N65 refund, I was told to go use another bank ATM & I'll not be changed.

What was the refund about, how come it's not being mentioned in order to inform customers. And what banks are involved in scamming their customers. Nigerians will like to know, stop protecting the banks.
