Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court 2, sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, convicted Adewunmi after she pleaded guilty to the amended one count pressed against her.
Uwujaren said owing to the findings, the Commission earlier filed against her, five counts bordering on money laundering, but the count was later amended to one after agreeing to a plea bargain option. The amended charge professed her guilty of an offence contrary to Section 27 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015.
One year too short.
