Former Nigerian Vice President and the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Cairo Ojuogboh, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission . Ojuogboh tragically collapsed and passed away while watching the Super Eagles match against South Africa in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday.

In a heartfelt tribute on social media, Atiku described Ojuogboh as a patriotic Nigerian with an unwavering love for the country. The former vice president expressed a personal sense of loss, emphasizing Cairo's profound dedication to Nigeria. Atiku's statement read: 'The sudden passing of my close friend, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, deeply saddens me. 'His love for our country was profound.
