The Nigerian Army has urged young people from Rivers State to consider military service due to the current low representation from the region.Speaking at a sensitization workshop at the 6 Division Garrison Command, Brigadier General Nwito Nzidee, who is a Rivers indigene, emphasized the importance of Rivers people contributing to national security.

Highlighting the high youth population and unemployment rate, Brigadier General Nzidee urged eligible individuals to apply for the ongoing recruitment. “We are sensitising the people, telling them about the benefits that’s bound in joining the Army, with the view to rapping up enlistment of our young boys and girls, so as to utilize our quota,” he said.

The Garrison Commander of the 6 Division Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Edet Effiong, emphasized the accessibility and transparency of the recruitment process.“So please pass the message, recruitment, enlistment is free, let them go there and try their best. Even forget about what people are saying, try your luck. When it is your time they will take you,” Brigadier General Effiong said.
