, the CDS, Gen. Abayomi Olonisaki, representative of the National Security Adviser, Mr. Sanusi Galadima and other senior Military and other servicing senior and retired Military personnel, at the opening ceremony of the two- day seminar.

In his keynote address at the two-day seminar, the National Security Adviser, Maj. General Mohammed Monguno , noted that most sophisticated criminal rings, cartel or organized crimes, including Boko Haram insurgency, were bred and nurtured by the silence of people in the immediate community.

The theme of the seminar according to the NSA who was represented by Mr Sanusi Galadima, was designed to equip and position the retiring personnel upon retirement, as eyes and ears of the government towards enhancing national security. On his part, the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS General Abayomi Olonisaki, noted that national security challenges required cooperation and synergy of all elements of national power, as well as the citizenry, to tackle.

“ The theme refocuses on the engagement of retired military personnel for an enhanced national security. The attainment of the desired national security is a collaborative effort of the citizens and security agencies. This collaboration starts from the grassroots, neighborhoods and communities. The communities are at the base of our national security architecture.
