The House of Representatives has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider an Indigene of thefor Appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic when appointing his cabinet in line with constitutional provisions.
Adopting a resolution on a motion sponsored by Hon. Abdulrahman Ajiya and Hon. Gaza Jonathan Gbefwi, the House asked the President to comply with the judgment of the Court of Appeal on the ministerial slot for FCT indigenes in the Federal Executive Council. He said the judgment by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on 15 January 2018, was in the case instituted by HRH Musa Baba Panya against the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, adding that court affirmed that the Federal Capital Territory is entitled to a ministerial slot in the Federal Executive Council .
