Appeal Court affirms Orji Kalu's conviction for stealing Abia funds

Mr Kalu, a serving senator, was jailed alongside Udeh Udeogu, his Director of Finance and Accounts at the Abia State Government House during Mr Kalu’s tenure.

Following the conviction, Slok and Mr Udeogu had approached the appellate court to set aside the judgment of the trial court for lack of jurisdiction. But the three-member panel of the appellate court in a judgment read by Justice Olabisi Ige on Wednesday dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit, Punch Newspaper reported.
