Senator Aliyu Wamakko has been declared the winner of the Sokoto North Senatorial Seat supplementary election held on Saturday. The former Sokoto governor and the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 141,468 votes to defeat his closest rival, Muhammad Manir Dan’Iya of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 118,445. Dan’Iya is the deputy governor of the state.

Senator Aliyu Wamakko has been declared the winner of the Sokoto North Senatorial Seat supplementary election held on Saturday.

The former Sokoto governor and the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress polled 141,468 votes to defeat his closest rival, Muhammad Manir Dan’Iya of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 118,445.The returning officer for the Sokoto North Senatorial election, Ibrahim Magawata announced the results of the poll held in 185 polling units, which were cancelled on February 25, 2023.
