The Lagos State Government has said that the developers of a building that collapsed on Sunday ignored its stop-work order. SaharaReporters earlier reported that a building under construction in the Apapa area of Lagos collapsed on Sunday during a downpour recorded in some parts of the state. Officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency have sealed the building which is at 45, Ladipo Oluwo Street in Apapa GRA, the report added.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that a building under construction in the Apapa area of Lagos collapsed on Sunday during a downpour recorded in some parts of the state. However, a statement issued on Sunday by Mukaila Sanusi, Deputy Director, Public Affairs from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development said the developers “ignored the stop work and seal-up orders of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA and continued construction behind the scene”.

“Lagos State Government has immediately activated inquiries into the collapse to unravel the minute details and guide appropriate actions.”
