A coalition of human rights organisations on Monday took to the streets in Abuja to protest against the detention of a journalist and social media activist, Steven Kefas, who had been held for 139 day

s in Kaduna prison, despite a court order, for criticising Governor Nasir el-Rufai.

“The intolerance of the El-Rufai government towards Kefas’ relentless criticism reached its crescendo during the massacre of Adara natives and the decimation of their villages in the Kajuru Local Government of Kaduna State in March 2019,” they stated.
