The facilities were sealed by the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, over the weekend over failure to pay sanitation levies, business premises and sundry government taxes.Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has reportedly sealed off the Nigeria Police Force facility and about 25 banks and hotels operating within Awka, the state capital, over failure to pay their taxes and levies to the state government.
Arise TV reports that the head of the team and desk officer in charge of Anambra State Waste Management Authority in the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. James-Morgan Ezeodili, said that the enforcement was sequel to a court order on August 11 this year to seal off the businesses.
