Anambra, Abia worry over low application for police recruitment - Punch Newspapers

THE Anambra and Abia state governments have expressed worry over the low number of applications in their various states for the ongoing police recruitment.

Only 261 applications were also received from Lagos State, with Anambra State having the least figure of 158 applicants., the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C-Don Adinuba, said that the young men and women in the South-East were not interested in joining the police as constables.

“It is an individual decision, individual choice and there is nothing the government can do about it.”

… because the Nigerian police allow themselves to be used by the government as MURDERERS OF THE PEOPLE. With soldiers, they burn down Igbo villages incessantly.

Government should make security jobs, such as, Police, Military and other security agencies lucrative in such that it will attract people to apply for, now come to think of it, how many graduates in our society today apply for this jobs after graduating, no one, so it's worrisome

The Indigenous people of Anambra and Abia are Biafrans and no longer want anything to do with Nigeria a country that is killing their citizens daily for no reason.

Only two reasons, fear of being the sacrificial lamb in time of trouble. Secondly, the poor pay associated with the job!
