ALLEGED DUMPING OF CORPSES IN IGBO MONARCH’S PALACE: Ex-Minister Chidoka, two others in the eye of the storm vanguardngr.com vanguardnews

Also the Odu of Obosi said at the occasion that “anyone who committed abomination should make atonement”.

The Chief Priest of Obosi, Emma Maduegbuna, said that if the Igwe had seen the corpses allegedly dumped in the palace, he would have died within four days.Maduegbuna explained that for the three accused men to get pardon, each of them must buy nine cows and distribute same to the nine villages in Obosi to appease the gods within three weeks or else they would attract the wrath of the gods.

In a telephone chat with newsmen, one of the suspended cabinet members, Udemba, also said that it was not in Obosi culture to wash their dirty linen in the public, adding that for the Igwe to do such was a sign that a wrong person is on the throne. “Ab initio, I refused to become a member of the royal cabinet so that I can freely say my opinion whenever the case arises but after pressures from the Igwe himself and others, I accepted to join the cabinet only on the condition that I must continue to say things as I see them.

In his own reaction, Chief Charles Umolu also said on phone that it was not proper to suspend people from the cabinet without first hearing from them, adding that it was quite ironical that the man who signed and read out the press statement concerning the suspension is not even a member of the Obosi royal cabinet.

According to an eye-witness, the group had, on alighting from the bus, made straight to the polling centre and, in a bid to snatch the result sheets, ballot boxes and other electoral materials from INEC officials, started shooting but were resisted by INEC officials, security agents and party agents.
