January 19, 2023All the people abducted at the Chief Tom Ikimi Railway Station Ekekhen in Igueben, Edo State, have regained their freedom, the Nigerian Railway Corporation has said.
Chris Nehikhare, the state’s Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, later said an intelligence report showed that 20 persons were abducted. However, Mahmood Yakub, Deputy Director, Public Relations, NRC, on Thursday in a statement said the victims had been released to their families, but was silent about ransom payment.
“At this point, the NRC Board and Management highly appreciate the role, patience and cooperation of the families of the victims. We also wish to express our appreciation to the security agencies, State Government and all those who contributed in one way or the other towards the release of the harmless and innocent citizens for their efforts.
The NRC Management advised all communities residing along the railway corridors to be security conscious by reporting any suspicious movement that was likely to cause a breach of peace within their locality, to the nearest security agency or their community vigilante for quick intervention.

Thank God. God bless Gov. Obaseki and the police and army who successfully saved these people. It's wonderful to see states learning buhari and APC's failure during the Kaduna train attack.

So fast what a miracle this time...
Dem go use ds news do campaign. All of a sudden, people abducted will b released, no arrest, for election purpose. After election, back to business
And we have never seen any of there face or even to interview them
How come without any single arrest? APC starting the 2023 this way and canvassing for vote is the biggest joke of the year, not even with candidates fingered in drug trafficking and sponsoring of terrorism
Thank God they’re safe, until the next
This is good news to hear that all the captives have finally regained their freedom. But how about the terrorists, were they not captured? Nigerian story beats me hands down always, how could the kidnapped persons be freed without even one of the captors caught or neutralised?
So, why was it difficult to release the Kaduna - Abuja victims
Miracle
Government don pay up lol
Nigerians asked for trains for decades now that they have it, they are asking for security while in the trains
Wonder why those kidnappers are not going after those Criminal Politicians and there Families
