Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, has awarded university scholarships to four students from the state who won the Indonesia-Nigeria bilateral debate competition.
The Benue team was led to Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, on May 5 by Grace Adagba, chairperson of the State Universal Basic Education Board .During the national competition in November, the Benue students came second behind Kwara, which was the overall winner, while Taraba came third Speaking on Monday when he received the students at the government house in Makurdi, the state capital, Alia said his administration will not relent in prioritising education and development.The governor commended the participants, adding that “his administration has set an exemplary path of excellence for the students to follow”.
