The victims were all females, but the driver, a male, was said to have sustained a serious injury during the accident which occured on Saturday at about 19:45 hours.
Sources said the youths chanted songs, brandishing machetes and sticks, scaring away officers of the Road Safety Corps who came for rescue operation. He said the command has been preaching to road users to always take necessary precautions while driving on highways to minimize road crashes in the state.
