The Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday released the names of members of the Local Organising Committee for the first Aisha Buhari Cup, an invitational women’s football tournament which holds in Nigeria in September.

The competition, which is in celebration of 30 years of women’s football in the country, will have South Africa, Cameroon, Mali, Morocco, and Ghana battling in the invitational championship from September 14 to 20 in Lagos. In a statement by the NFF Communications Department, NFF vice president, Seyi Akinwunmi, was named the chairman of the committee, which is saddled with the responsibility of organising a befitting tournament that would uphold the good image of the country.

A nominee of the Lagos State Government will serve as vice chairman, while other members include Ibrahim Gusau, member, NFF Executive Committee; NWFL boss, Aisha Falode, who is the event’s Director of Organisation, and Amina Daura, NFF’s Head of Women’s Football. All rights reserved.
