Ajumogobia, Others Call for Petroleum Sector Reforms

Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Odein Ajumogobia , has called for the speedy passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill , warning that continuous delay is negatively affecting Nigeria’s efforts to attract investment in the sector and also ensure optimal management of the country’s oil and gas resources.

He said that the delay in the passage of the PIGB has hampered Nigeria’s oil and gas resources full maximisation. According to him, Nigeria needs better oil and gas management and only a legal framework can help achieve that. Speaking on the need for deeper sector reforms, Ms Tengi George-Ikoli, Programme Coordinator, NNRC, said that with the rate neighbouring countries are discovering crude oil and gas, if Nigeria keeps procrastinating, investors will have no option than to seek for alternative investment elsewhere, leaving Nigeria.

Tafawa Balewa And Other Prophecies - THISDAYLIVE“Since 1914, the British Government has been trying to make Nigeria into one country, but the Nigerian people themselves are historically different in their backgrounds, in their religious beliefs and customs and do not show themselves any sign of willingness to unite… Nigerian unity is only a British intention for the country.”- Sir Abubakar Tafawa … Repeatedly, I have said the British man should be looked at as the worst enemy of the nationalities that they binded together and called Nigeria. They are totally wicked. Going further, it would have been better if the ethnic nationalities fought war to assert their.../2 .../1 independence. Up till this moment, the British still clandestinely support the north to suppress other ethnic nationalities. As far as am concern, there is nothing like Nigeria in it's true sense.
