The Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman, said some Federal Government agencies operating at the ports disobeyed the directive and executive order signed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on ensuring 24-hour port operations and synergy among such agencies.’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ programme on Thursday which was monitored by our correspondent.
Usman said, “If you recall there is an executive order that was signed by the Vice-President which directed all agencies of government to conduct inspection in one location and that executive order was signed in 2017. “If an agency of government violates an executive order signed by the Vice-President, I believe the Vice-President and indeed the Presidency should sanction that agency for non-compliance but that has not been done. The executive order sought to have all agencies do inspection in one location hence consignees don’t have to have multiple areas of inspection.”
The management of the Nigeria Port Authority(NPA)should be held responsible if they failed to enforce govt directives, the essence was to offer solution to ease the operations of our sea ports and reduce the congestion situated in its operating capacity rather heaping blame game
This is gross misconduct from the NPA MD for such a mischievous utterance, If the VP gave the directive in an Acting capacity as President and reverted to his position as Vice President, the President should be responsible for enforcement of the directive.
Lol .... The man na pop corn
Imagine, now, Nigerians shld see our real enemy of economy... Enemy of importation and exportation. This NPA MD should be sacked. This is acting President directive. Why are these agencies always default?
Chai, their problem is Osinbajo. All these Agency are not willingly ready for the betterment of Nigeria. Hadiza must be sacked.
Hadiza Usman you should be responsible for enforcement, The VP made the order as Acting President, it's mischief on your part.
Took out time to read this article and it's beyond sad. There is no consequence for actions and we wonder why lawlessness continue to thrive. If an executive order can be disobied and nothing is done. Then why bother about governance
When solution is offered to ease the operations of our sea ports and our people fails to comply, who do we blame? NPA should be held responsible if the mgt cannot enforce govt directives.
Who is Osinbanjo? Nobody cares about him and his directives. The Fulanis are the ones dat have the directives. Even if Buhari is dead Osinbanjo is just a slave in the hands of those idiots
The fact here is that the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo had always frowned at Agencies engaging in wrong doing. As can be verified in the photo below. Am surprised that Hadiza Usman did not enforce the Vice President's directive, and she is trying to exempt herself here
The NPA ought to have implemented the call up system at the ports since last year but delayed. The NPA MD shouldn't exempt herself because she is also a violator herself.
Poor him.
No, Buhari will not allow him. I am sure to back up the executive order he signed on behalf of the Presidency, he would put in place a competent MD empowered to control the activities of these agencies.we
1. Agencies disobeyed the Presidency not Osinbajo. 2. Buhari/Osinbajo Administration should be ashamed of having people who are not able to solve basic logistic issues despite 'eto' app to head institutions, parastatals and agencies. 3. If Osinbajo started it, let him finish it.
Two men alone cannot change Nigeria, everyone must be willing to do their part. If an executive order is given and agencies don't obey it, then things won't change. This should be a wake up call to other agencies related to the port, do your part as Ag President Osinbajo did his.
The corruption is too much, they only obey directives when it’s against Nigeria like CBN closing Nigerians bank account.
Hadiza! those agencies should face the wrath of law. Some Nigerians make progress difficult when Osinbajo makes it easy for all citizens. The electronic call up system that manages scheduling, movement, entry of trucks &empty containers into the port.
Who is Osinbajo? That guy have been side lined in this administration. The best thing for him is to resign because Buhari has render him useless, what a sorry case.🤦♂️
Hadiza! All erring agencies should face the wrath of law. Some Nigerians make progress difficult when Osinbajo makes it easy all citizens The electronic call up system that manages scheduling, movement, entry of trucks &empty containers into the port.
Because Osinbajo is just a mere errand boy in that presidency
When Osinbajo dey expose them instead of collecting bribe like past VPs, I no mention Atiku's name oooooooooo
It is good that Hadiza Usman is exposing these errant agencies. Osinbajo has done all within his powers but these agencies keep frustrating Nigerians. What pains me most is that most Nigerians are ignorant to all his efforts on Apapa.
So who's she reporting to?
Check well, a northern is heading those agencies.
It's high time we upgrade our system & av prompt actions in every sector... Why not something like 'Agencies who disobeyed Osinbajo's directive on 24-hour port operation was brought to book'. Na sharp judgement e suppose be na, d news set go sweet to read.
you just started! na only arrest and killings y'all sabi do. ProfOsinbajo you're part of the bloodshed 🇳🇬 Ogun punish y'all
He is not a Muslim now. So what do you expect
Ordinary vice presido 🤡🤪
Check well,I stand to be corrected. The head of the agency is a Fulani or Hausa person ( as in Northerner).
Punch Newspapers, kindly help talk to Nigeria government and NIMC. I did my NIN at Ikorodu LGA and I went there with my bvn only for them to tell me that bvn is not needed in NiN registration again. Now, I am having some difficulty with my bank and they are telling me to re-re
There are Powers backing the agencies certainly.
Uhm nothing surprising here
