A total of 11,064,898 COVID-19 cases were reported in Africa as of Wednesday evening, the Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has said.

Director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention John Nkengasong delivers a statement at the manufacturing site of German company BioNTech in Marburg, western Germany, on February 16, 2022, amid the novel coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic. – African leaders, co-founders of BioNTech and representatives of international health organisations met to discuss the production of vaccines against Covid-19 in Africa.

The specialized healthcare agency of the African Union said the death toll across the continent stands at 245,237, and 10,205,894 patients have recovered from the disease so far.
