The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Against Corruption, Prof Itse Sagay, has lamented that Africa and Nigeria are the worst affected by corruption.

The chairman stated this in a statement titled ‘Collective Action for Fighting Corruption,’ which was released on Monday to commemorate with this year’s African Anti-Corruption Day.

While the day is marked every July 11, event slated to celebrate it in Nigeria have been scheduled for July 14 due to Sallah holidays. Sagay, in the statement he personally signed, pointed out that corruption is affecting notable sectors in the world, adding that it poses an existential threat to the world.

He wrote, “As fellow Nigerians and Africans can see, corruption poses an existential threat to the world. Even UNO is not spared.
