Nwoke stated this yesterday while speaking to LEADERSHIP Weekend in Umuahia ahead of the proclamation of the 8th Assembly by Otti, saying he was already prepared to play his own role.

“Expectations from the governor are very high. Fortunately, given his track record in service and connections he will be able to weather the storm. Yet, he still needs our collective support. “Each and every one of us must be ready to work and make the necessary contributions and sacrifices to move the state forward. We can’t afford to allow it remain where it has been all these 24 years.

“To succeed, Otti needs our total support, loyalty, prayers and sincerity of purpose as well as being alive to our civic responsibilities and committed to our jobs either in the private sector or public service,” he said.

Makinde flags off N9.6bn road project in IbadanGov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday flagged off the N9.6 billion Akobo – Olounda/Abaa 8.3 kilometres road project in Ibadan.   The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that dualisation of the road project in Lagelu Local Government area, was contracted to Samchase Nigeria Ltd.     Makinde, reiterating his commitment to infrastructure development, said that his administration had resolved to put in place critical infrastructure that would open up the state for economic expansion.   He explained that 30 per cent of the contract cost had been paid to enhance speedy completion of the project within the time-frame of 12 months.
