The State Assembly also urged the students and residents of Ikwuano local government area of the state to remain calm and go about their businesses while it wait for the Federal Emergency Road Maintenance Agency and the state government to carry out immediate palliative on the stretch of the road.
This follows the recent protest by the students of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia State, against the sorry state of the federal road which led to a fatal accident that killed a 500 level student of the institution by a trailer driver. However, the Abia State House of Assembly, during its plenary resolved and invited the State Commissioner of Works on thursday, to ascertain the plan by the Ministry on how best they would carry out the directive of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on the bad road.
