The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of four tipper drivers from a farm on the outskirts of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The four drivers, according to sources corroborated by the police, were abducted by kidnappers, who were dressed in military uniform, on a site where they went to collect sand to supply customers last Saturday.

The kidnappers, who later contacted their families, demanded a ransom of N5m for each of the four drivers.gathered that some women, who claimed to be wives of the drivers, on Wednesday, solicited alms from commuters and passersby in the Oyun area of Sango, Kwara State Polytechnic Road, Ilorin. “We have to beg people for money to meet their demand as we don’t have such money; our husbands are poor; they live from hand to mouth.”
