The Board of Trustees, Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, has commended the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria for the recently introduced Advertising Industry Standard of Operating Procedure.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees, AAAN, Sir Steve Omojafor, who gave the commendation, said the initiative would be of benefit to the industry and practitioners. Omojafor, in a statement by the AAAN Press Office, titled ‘Advertising: Omojafor lauds AISOP’, said it was gratifying that almost all the heads of sectoral groups in the advertising and marketing industry had signed off on the document.
He, however, urged them to urgently commence the sensitisation of their members and clients to the full implementation of the new operating procedure to restore sanity in the marketing communication industry. He noted further that the operating procedure would eradicate unfair advantages, unethical competition and inequitable policies in the industry, particularly the provision of standardised minimum commercial terms for all stakeholders in the development of the industry.
