Amidst opposition from his home turf, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State is one of the presidential hopefuls under the platform of the Peoples

Wike had promised during his governorship electioneering campaigns in various fora to create jobs, empower the youths, pay salary and pension to workers and pensioners, offer scholarships and bursary to students among others.

The State workforce and the pensioners say they are groaning, while Wike keeps a straight face, traversing and playing Big Brother across the country.Some of the States that benefited include Benue, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto and Kaduna. Besides the workers, Youths of the South-South region under the platform of the South South Youth Initiative have called Wike to back down from his 2023 exploits to the presidency.

SSYI also accused Wike of sacking 400 lecturers duly employed by the past administration and closed down some projects like Songhai Farms, Buguma Fish Farms, Tai Plantain Plantation, among others.
