Benue state governor , Samuel Ortom has flagged off the 2019 fertilizer sales and distribution to farmers at the subsidized rate of 40 percent for all brands of fertilisers in Makurdi, the state capital.

The governor explained that over 40 percent cost on all brands of fertilizer will be borne by the state government to make the products affordable to the farmers. The governor informed that already, modalities have been put in place for the take-off of the rural access and Agricultural Marketing Project 3 in the state to enhance the development and rehabilitation of 500 kilometers of rural roads across the state for easy movement of farm produce to markets.

“In addition, this administration will continue to synergize and partner with credible development partners and agencies for more achievements through the IFAD-Assisted Cassava and Rice Value Chain Development Programme as well as the Fadama III additional financing”
