for disciplinary actions over their misconduct during the convention and election exercise organised by the National Union of Adamawa State Students between September 4 and 5, 2023.
The Policemen were seen in a viral video on the social media escorting the car of the newly elected President of the Students Union. But, reacting to the development, the Police Headquarters said the two Policemen went beyond their brief and purpose of their deployment to the Students Union event, adding that their actions were unacceptable and do not represent the values of the Police Force.
Taking to his verified X platform on Monday, Force Public Relations Officer , Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said both Policemen and their superiors had been summoned to the Force Headquarters in Abuja for appropriate action. Adejobi wrote: “We are committed to maintaining professionalism and upholding the dignity of the Nigeria Police Force. Regarding the recent incident involving two Constables escorting a student union president in Adamawa State, their actions were unacceptable and do not represent the values of our force.
